HAMEDAN

Hamedan is one of the oldest cities in Iran as well as in the world. The city was named „the capital of Iranian history and civilization“ in 2006. The city of Hamedan in the Zagros Mountains and was the first capital to be by the first powerful kingdom of Iran, MAAD where also known in historical references as Hegmataneh and Ekbatan. The city of Hamedan is one of the most important cities of the country, due to historical attractions. The symbol of this city is the tomb of Abu Ali Sinai (Avicenna). One of the most famous places in Hamadan is Alisadr Cave. Ganjnameh Tourist Village with its historical inscriptions and its beautiful waterfall are also some of the other attractions you can visit. Hegmataneh hill in the northern part, in the old texture and Hamedan market has an underground city dating back to 3,000 years.
